Gifts of Holiday Chillin'

I don’t know about you, but December can be an incredible stressful month. It seems moments of holiday bliss and rest don’t arrive and linger for very long, so I have learned I need to create my moments of holiday respite . These are some of my favorite quick ways to nourish my soul.

💖- Essential oils have an immediate impact on our senses and can quickly create a mood shift. I love making my own essential oil scents for diffusing or as a roll-on scent. This is my favorite diffusing scent to bring a sense of calm to my mind and body. If you are interested in this scent or a unique If blend for yourself or as a gift, I make these available for purchase, feel free to email me to place a custom order. I also sell a ceramic oil diffuser, made by a Dallas artist, on my Etsy site, and I use and sell doTERRA™ essential oils.

“Calm My Soul” Essential Oil for Diffusing

Using an essential oil diffuser, add min. 1/4 cup water and then add the following essential oils:

1 drop Frankincense

1 drop Lavender

1 drop lime

1 drop Arbovitae

Blend Breakdown:

Frankincense: clears low vibrations, such as anger, from the spirit so you can express more love from your heart.

Lavender: soothes the heart and opens constricted energy.

Lime: brings joy to the heart.

Arborvitae: brings peace and grounding by helping you to “let it go”.

💖- Who doesn’t like a warm bath to ease away tension and escape from the day’s noise? Adding some bath salt with essential oils deepens the relaxing bath experience. This is one of my favorite bath salt recipes. And if you prefer, I can make it for you just email me. :)

“Nourished Soul Bath Salts”

Mix all of the ingredients in a non-reactive bowl such as stainless or ceramic. Enjoy your salts in a warm bath immediately or store in a glass container with a tight lid to use later.

Approx. 3/4 - 1 cup total: Equal Parts Epsom Salt, Himalayan Salt, Dead Sea Salt, or your choice of any one of these salts

1 tbls. Dried Organic Rose Petals (optional)

Essential Oils: (This is a suggestion of drops to use. It’s fun to blend the drops to the scent you like and the strength of the scent from subtle (less drops) to strong (more drops). Enjoy mixing!

2 drops - Vetiver,

2 drops Patchouli,

4 drops Sweet Orange,

2 drops Bergamot

Blend Breakdown:

Vetiver: allows you to become more rooted

Patchouli: helps ground your spirit into the body

Sweet Orange: brings pleasant thoughts into your mind

Bergamot: helps embrace yourself

💖- I love it when the weather is cold and I get in my bed with cozy flannel sheets and read. Yes, that’s right, I read an actual book. I know it’s so retro, but I love escaping into the pages and suspending time for a short while. In keeping with nourishing the creative soul, I recommend: The Doors of Joy: 19 Meditations for Authentic Living, by Daniel Odier

Bonus recommendation is a Children’s Book every adult should read too: Be STILL, life by Ohara Hale

💖- When the holidays have just beat you down and you’re tired and crabby, may I suggest you just go lie down or find a cozy chair, get comfortable, close your eyes, take some slow deep breaths and let yourself drift as you listen to this ethereal song: “Skies Minus” by Helios.

In all the busyness of the season, I hope you find time to rest, be merry and nourish your soul.

Wishing you Warm Holiday Blessings.
